Tulips and Christmas Lights!

Ok, I don't have pictures but on Sunday Shaun put up the Christmas lights and I planted 147 Tulip bulbs. I had to write the number of bulbs here so I would forget because over the years we (ok, I am lying actually my mom) planted many many tulip bulbs and only a few actually come up in the spring. So in the spring I will keep you posted out of the 147 tulips how many come up. I am betting about 15. Till the spring!
Oh just to let everyone know I already put the Christmas tree up 2 weeks ago. So for all of you that made fun of me for putting it up a week before Christmas in the past, nothing to bug me about this year. Most importantly I have about 90% of my Christmas shopping done.
Season Greetings to all and Holiday cards will be out soon......I am not that good to already have them done!!

Surprise Party

Since Tab was turning 30 on October 30 th and Shaun was turning 35 on October 25th, we decided to have a surprise party for both of them. Shaun thought the party was just for Tab, so he didn't have any idea that it was also for him even when he got there and walked by the signs. Though he did say that he thought something was going on when he said that we couldn't go because we had too much to do and I insisted that we must go because I promised I would help Elaine with the food so he figured that was the real reason. I think Tab was surprised, she thought she was coming for a poker party. Here are some pictures from the night.

If you want to know how Shaun's cake tasted you will have to ask Shaun's face, shirt or the floor of course......THANKS SCOTT MELLOR!!!!!!

I can tell you Tab's cake was yummy!

St. Jacobs/ Elmira Sept. 2006

Mom and I went to St. Jacobs and Elmira while Shaun was away on the fishing trip this year. We had a great time and stayed at a lovely Bed and Breakfast in Elmira. Leisure Estates B & B was excellent, it is a great place to visit and the area with the Farmers Market and the village of St. Jacobs is wonderful. While driving the country side you will see Mennonites driving horse and buggy and farms without electricity still.
Here is the website for St. Jacobs if anyone is interested - http://www.stjacobs.com/

Here are some Pictures of Leisure Estates B & B in Elmira.

They actually have livestock ( sheep and cows) on the property

This is a pictures of the house, it is beautiful

This is the backyard and there are also walking trails and cross country skiing trails on the property

This was the suite we stayed in

This is one of the common areas, a living room with a loft above that 2 of the other guest rooms enter off.

Saturday August 26, 2006...................

It was with a heavy heart that we said goodbye to the Olds today.
The 1984 Olds Cutlass Calais as many of you know belonged to my brother Doug and I kept it as Doug always loved the Cutlass (this was his second one)
I have been talking of selling it for years and finally decided to put a for sale sign on it thinking that it would be months or hopefully years before anyone inquired well little did I know we had 2 calls the first week the sign was up. The olds has sat in our driveway for 3.5 years and hasn't even ran once, with a new battery, some gas, some air in all 4 tires and 5 minutes and it was running like the beast it is. As soon as I heard it run, I knew I wasn't ready to say goodbye.

The guy who bought it didn't impress me much, he seemed to be from the FAR NORTH if you know what I mean but he has a love for the car and seems to know his way around it (Yes, I was watching) so atleast I know he will take good care of it or I will kick his A$$.

Well I have said it before and I will say it again that car is a guy magnet. So if Shaun dumps me now I am in big trouble.
The only good thing that came out of this is again we have room for another car in the driveway so please come visit so our driveway doesn't look so empty.

So with tears in my eyes I waved as it drove off into the rising sun this morning.

Jungle Cat World - August 2006 part 1

On Monday we (Shaun, Rachel, my mom and me of course) went to Jungle Cat World in Orono (http://www.junglecatworld.com/) It is a very cool place to visit as you can see from the photos.

This is a Timber Wolf that has been hand raised and is friendly. Not that you would want to get in the cage with her!!

Jungle Cat World - August 2006

These ducks were so cute, they stood in a row along the fence looking at the water like they were not allowed in.

This Artic Wolf was cool, if I barked at him, he would growl back at me almost a howl at the time I thought he was being playful but maybe not. Loved him! or maybe he was a girl?
Rachel do you remember??

This is the King of Cat World, This is Pasha II - actually his father was the King and I guess that would make him the prince but whatever. It was his parents that originally started jungle Cat World and the reason that it is there today. If you have a few hours to go it is worth the trip.

Kyle Family Reunion 2006 - Part 1

As many of you know we went to the Kyle Family Reunion this past weekend. It is always good for a laugh and I thought I would share just some of the pictures.

It seems every year we seem to get into a handstand and cartwheel-a-thon, usually at Rachel suggestion. Here are some pictures of the young and old trying to pull off the some of the best moves. Shaun, Rachel and I have already started practicing for next year.
